  • Cat and Kitten Foster Preferences

  • What types of cats/kittens are you willing and able to foster? Select all that apply.*
  • Are you willing to foster cats who have an upper respiratory infection (URI)? Treatment is typically 7 days of oral and/or eye medication. URI is similar to a human cold and is contagious from cat to cat, but not to other species (including dogs or humans). The risk is transmission to your resident cat is lower if your resident cat has a good immune system, is up to date on vaccinations, are housed totally separate from cats with URI.*
  • Are you willing to foster cats who have Ringworm? Treatment is 6 weeks of topical and oral medication. Ringworm is a fungal skin condition that is contagious to humans and pets. We follow medical protocols and encourage care that will prevent disease-spread. Treatment involves oral medication, skin ointment and medicated baths. We recommend you do not foster cats with ringworm if there are children, people with a compromised immune system, or senior pets in the home.*
